When should I schedule my HVAC system maintenance?
Your HVAC system works differently in all four seasons with a different set of requirements in the warmer months than in the colder ones. Routine maintenance checks are best performed throughout the year to ensure your heating and air conditioning are working correctly and prepared for the weather ahead.
Spring & Summer Maintenance
- Clean coils and condensers
- Check/Replace filters
- Check the outside unit, clear any debris
- Check for leaks
- Clear any clogs in drain lines
- Check the refrigerant charge, thermostats, and all connections associated with the electrical system
- Inspect ducts for dust and mold, and inspect the blowers and blades
- Ensure fan motor is operating correctly and lubricate any moving parts
Fall & Winter Maintenance
- Clear drain lines and carefully inspect all heating elements
- Lubricate all moving parts such as
bearings and motors - Check/Replace filters
- Check for gas pressure and look for areas prone to gas leaks
- Check thermostats, wiring and electrical connections, and the ignition burner assembly
- Inspect the heat pump and make sure the flue system is attached to the furnace
